Nobody has played it on Walnut yet, so it has no medal. Scripted benchmarks have run it (Test runs), but they never rate a game.
Installation
In Walnut Games, the desktop app: Install, then Add game files... and pick your copy of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: the disc in the drive, an ISO, BIN/CUE or MDF image, an installer or a folder. The game data is not part of the package, and Walnut does not offer it.
What works: RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: its CD, an installed copy (Steam, GOG) or the GOG installer.
Optional, from a copy that has them: the expansion: Also add in the app.
More ways (a terminal, game-data-packager on any Debian system, copying the files by hand): Guides.
Or from a terminal, from Walnut's apt repository:
sudo apt install openrct2
Known issues
- It draws only with the software renderer at 960x540 scaled up, and runs at 21 to 24 frames a second in Electric Fields.
- A big park is slower: about 10 frames a second in Six Flags Magic Mountain, with 2,700 guests.
- Loading a park freezes the game for up to 9 s while the console swaps, and memory stays nearly all in use.
- Nobody has played it through a session on Walnut yet, so its sound hasn't been judged.
