Nobody has played it on Walnut yet, so it has no medal.
Installation
In Walnut Games, the desktop app: Install, then Add game files... and pick your copy of Hexen: the disc in the drive, an ISO, BIN/CUE or MDF image, an installer or a folder. The game data is not part of the package, and Walnut does not offer it.
What works: HEXEN.WAD from Hexen: Beyond Heretic 1.1 (1.0 does not run): a CD, an installed copy, Steam's common/Hexen folder or GOG's installer; HEXDD.WAD from Deathkings of the Dark Citadel if you have it.
Optional, from a copy that has them: the expansion: Also add in the app.
More ways (a terminal, game-data-packager on any Debian system, copying the files by hand): Guides.
Or from a terminal, from Walnut's apt repository:
sudo apt install dsda-doom
Known issues
- Nobody has played it through a session on Walnut yet: only the title screen and the demo have run, and its speed hasn't been measured.
- DSDA-Doom's MIDI music chops on the PS3: about 465 sound underruns a minute with the synthesizer on the SPEs (measured with Freedoom, not with this WAD).
- The Macintosh CD's Hexen.WAD plays without the OPL music player, only with the fluidsynth one.
